Why are my roofs a different color than the roofs I got last time?

The "tints" in our natural roof sheets has nothing to do with poor quality control. There are multiple factors that can contribute to this, but the most probable one is inherent in the High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMWPE) material that is used. This is something that is beyond anything that we could put into our specifications to alleviate. It has to do with how the HMWPE material is manufactured, and what processing additives are added by the manufacturers to enable them to get the best output they can in their process.  Different railcars of material from the same manufacturer results in different "tints" on this roof sheet.  This will bleach out over time, but depending where you are located in the US, it will take more time in some areas than others. 

Long ago, it was determined that the translucency of our roof sheet was most critical - sunlight must be able to get through our roof sheet during the day into the units.  The only way to eliminate this temporary problem of the yellow tint to our Natural Roofs would be to add white pigment to our UV package, but this would reduce the translucency of the roof, which was deemed unacceptable.  Therefore, the white pigment was left out and temporary tinting occurs.  As mentioned before this will bleach out over time.

How can I protect myself from shipping damages?

Shipping damage can and does happen. To protect yourself:

  • Check for damage before the driver leaves.
  • Show any damage to driver.
  • Refuse all or part of shipment, if necessary.
  • Note problems on shipping document.
  • Contact the customer service rep that shipped the package.
